Ok, so it’s been a bad week of eating on my end. Dealing with a cold, massive headache, and then a slip in my apartment this morning has just been making me want to eat crappy food. And for some reason my need for something bad is that much worse when I’m in the office. Today I took the day off and it’s time to get back on track. For dinner I plan to make lemon pepper chicken, whole grain pasta, and brussels sprouts.
And to help curb my chocolate addiction I am incorporating healthier options like rice cakes flavored with chocolate, 100-calorie snack packs, and chocolate protein shakes. I’ve included another recipe below. I have a bowl of fruit at my office and at home also to help deflect the urge for something artificially sweet. It’s not easy but it’s good for feeding the soul and the running spirit. I’ll be back on track soon enough…
1-2 scoops of chocolate protein shake
1 1/3 cups skim milk
1/2 cup frozen strawberries (or fresh if in season)
handful of ice
Mix in blender and serve
