Winter is Melting

The weather is starting to turn!  Despite the rain today it was in the 50’s…yes I said 50’s! I wore a light jacket to work which made me feel more free and relaxed.  Yesterday’s 8 mile run on the trails with one of my childhood friends who lives nearby was great.  Finally an outside run without a hat or gloves.  So many people were out on the trails enjoying the nice weather of a Sunday afternoon.  Thinking about the warm days ahead got me excited to go out to play tennis or kick a soccer ball.  My state of mind is just overall happier and more at peace when the sun is shining longer and the blue skies can be seen!

As I wrap up another month of blogging I did not make all of my February Blog-olutions but I’m content with my progress.  Here’s a recap:

1.  Take at least three classes offered at my gym

(I completed two–body flow and hatha yoga)

2.  Make five healthy dishes/desserts/snacks

(I made four; however, the oatmeal-raisin-chocolate chip cookies might not qualify as healthy)

3.  Finish at least one fitness-related book

(That would be a negative–but I did read Runner’s World magazine and finished a book for book club)

4.  Keep up my 1/2 marathon training routine

(Yes fairly well with a little bit of deviation; on track with mileage)

5.  Blog at least every other day

(Almost; most of the time I posted at least every third day with one stretch of a four-day break)

Stay tuned for my March goals…

About mileoneandcounting

I'm a young professional living in the Washington, DC area. Since moving here in 2007 I have honed a passion for running and fitness. Growing up I played soccer and softball (and tested track & field for one year). After college I ran a few 5K races, but running was really only a means to staying in shape for me. Never in my wildest imagination had I thought I'd ever run a marathon, let alone three. Nor did I think I'd get the running bug after doing so, but I'll admit I'm hooked! Over the years my blog has grown into so much more than a running blog though. Sometimes I have deep thoughts. Other times I'm simply sharing a training story or a review of a product. Here's the place where you'll learn about me through my many adventures--even I enjoy going back to re-read some posts from time to time. I've also been able to hone my love for health and wellness through my business called IDLife which stands for Individually Designed Life. I'd love to help inspire you to live your best life yet so please don't hesitate to reach out to me and may my words resonate with you. See you on the trails...
