Training is Not for Wusses

I bought a training plan today!  I am super excited and already started playing around with all the cool features on the site.  I opted for Runner’s World Personal Trainer Break 3:30 Marathon plan!  Yikes, can I do it? We shall see.  I’m nervous but also really excited to take this leap and see how I can fare.  The plan moving forward–starting Monday I’m starting a six-week plan (using my Runner’s World Smart Coach application on my iPhone) that will get me to 10 miles, the base for the marathon plan.  Then August 1st, I embark on my 16-week plan that will test my limits!  Where I used to write everything in a notebook will now be done in my online account.  I am thrilled to use this opportunity to track my food intake, my routes and so much more.  Till then be excited for me…I’m going to need some cheerleaders along the way!

I'm a young professional living in the Washington, DC area. Since moving here in 2007 I have honed a passion for running and fitness. Growing up I played soccer and softball (and tested track & field for one year). After college I ran a few 5K races, but running was really only a means to staying in shape for me. Never in my wildest imagination had I thought I'd ever run a marathon, let alone three. Nor did I think I'd get the running bug after doing so, but I'll admit I'm hooked!     I used the Runner’s World training plan for Richmond in November. Loved it! So easy and comprehensive. And, WOW! The 3:30 plan?! You totally ROCK!!!!
