Today’s half marathon was a good run for me with a 1:53:42 finish time. Despite not setting a personal record, I felt much faster than last year when I ran this race, formerly the National Half Marathon. There seemed to be a few more hills but I pushed through them all. Another thing I did for the first time during a race was wear my headphones (I actually took them off when passing the bands along the course, which I found to be a bit of a disappointment for it being a rock and roll run. Except for my friend who I saw playing in Batala, a local women’s drumming band. They always get me fired up.).
All in all though a good day…perfect weather (you can’t beat running in a tank top and shorts in 60 degree temps)…lots of fun St. Patrick’s Day costumes to be had…and the crowds were having fun. Now I’m curious to see what the other cities’ runs are like where the Rock and Roll race series takes place.
Now it’s time to start thinking about what my next race shall be…I would like to have some friends join me for one. Any takers?
