Hooyah! I made it through my first week of SealTeamPT! That’s five mornings of 5:00 am wakeups! Each morning got a little easier in my mind, because after all half the battle is telling yourself you can do it! The initial stiffness in my body is simmering down a bit. I can do this! Today’s workout was good–lots of Indian runs, push ups, triceps dips. We used the playground out by Haines Point as our gym to do some arm hang leg pullups on the monkey bars. More crab walks and Supermans as well. I’m starting to get the hang of all the tools one can utilize without actually having a gym at your fingertips.
At one point I breathed in the smell of fresh pine and felt at peace. I’m out here taking control of my health, pushing myself to new heights and meeting other like-minded and encouraging people. I’m thanking my blessings that God has gifted me with a strong body and mindset to try something new.
Rumor is that next week we will be going out on boats?! I look forward to what’s in store!
