No, it’s just me sipping on my orange-kale smoothie, thank you!
This weekend I tested the following recipe I pulled from Austin Fit Magazine. In my opinion, it tasted delicious and was refreshing…just be sure to check your teeth after you finish drinking! And best thing…no added sugar, so it meets my 90-Day Nutrition Challenge.
Orange Kale Smoothie (Fuel recipe by Anne Wilfong, R.D., L.D., & Alexa Sparkman, M.A., R.D., L.D., Austin Fit Magazine, May 2013)
- 1 small banana
- 2 cups kale (loosely packed)
- 1 orange (peeled and sectioned)
- 1 cup coconut water
1. Combine all ingredients in a blender and pulse until well combined
2. Add additional coconut water as needed (add ice for extra chill or pop in freezer for a few minutes)
Calories: 260; Protein: 7 g; Carbohydrate: 63 g; Fat: 1.5 g; Fiber: 8 g; Sodium: 100 mg
Makes approximately 20 ounces; Serving size: two 10-ounce smoothies
